Firearms & Military Auction - Saturday, November 18th, 2017 at 10AM
Pook and Pook auction is excited to announce our fall Firearms & Military sale taking place on Saturday, November 18th, 2017 starting at 10AM in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. The sale features over 400 lots with a wide array of time periods represented. This auction will feature an untouched Revolutionary Brown Bess musket, which descended through a New Jersey family. Also set to cross the block are percussion muskets by P. S. Justice, as well as Springfield models 1855 and 1847. There is a nice collection of powder horns, to include a scrimshaw horn dated 1776, as well as Philadelphia and York County, Pennsylvania examples. Also included are two outstanding Winchester firearms, one of which is a model 1866 saddle ring carbine, the other a model 1876 rifle, both in wonderful condition. One of the many flintlock pistols will include a nice pair of French silver inlaid flintlock pistols, which will stand out to collectors. Civil War era guns abound with Sharps Navy contract, Spencer carbine, identified Spencer rifle, J. P. Lindsay model 1863, Millard Fillmore Union Guard rifle, Remington Zouave rifle, Perry Patent Arms carbine just to name a few. The Civil War time frame will also contribute several presentation swords, as well as a John Brown pike. A martially marked Colt revolver with lead one of many revolvers in the sale. Colt model 1911 will be very well represented with numerous great examples. A USMC decommissioned Colt M45A1 will also attract a good bit of attention. One of the other groups with great examples will be a collection of Smith & Wesson revolvers. These will be highlighted by not one, but two Registered Magnums, a scarce model 547 in 9 mm, as well as several Outdoorsman revolvers, many of which have their original boxes. The sale will also include items from the collection of Roger Young of Millbrook, NY, which includes some armor, German helmets, a confederate bayonet, in addition to European and African edged weapons. All of these and more will be available on our website and on the online bidding platform Bidsquare (www.bidsquare.com).
Phone, absentee, live salesroom, and internet bidding will be available for this auction. The buyer's premium is 22% for in-house bids, 25% for online bids. Online bidding will be available through Bidsquare at www.bidsquare.com. All phone bids start at a minimum bid of $500.
