French clockwork automaton of a Lord smoker
French clockwork automaton of a Lord smoker, attributed to Leopold Lambert, of a fanciful dressed gentleman with leather pants and a longtail coat, holding a monocle in one hand and a cigarette in the other, glass eyes, opening mouth with teeth and tongue showing, painted tin hands, with jeweled chain belt, beaver fur top hat, head turns to side as cigarette is raised to lips, eyelids move up and down, monocle is raised as mouth slightly opens, 25" h.
Currently working but sluggish and a bit twitchy (see video on Pook & Pook's YouTube channel, no guarantee regarding working condition). Wear to surface of pants. Small paint loss to hands. Small moth holes to coat. Wear to collar. Does not seem to be an easy way to access the mechanism inside without cutting through stitches.
