Large and important natural emerald salvaged from Nuestra Senora de Atocha, 18.72ct, housed in a 14K yellow gold cage inset with six diamonds. The Spanish galleon Atocha sank in 1622 off the coast of Florida, where her treasure was discovered in 1985. The salvage rights were given to Treasure Salvors Inc., and the emerald passed from the company to Stuart Kingston Galleries' November 1999 auction, to the present consignor. Lot includes a Treasure Salvors, Inc. Certificate of Authenticity and a signed copy of Mathewson III Treasure of the Atocha, A $400 Million Archaeological Adventure.
Inclusions as befits a natural emerald. Good condition. No apparent damages or repairs.
