Silk on linen needlework sampler, ca. 1817, wrought by Sarah Dodge, with alphabet above a stone home, flanked by trees, a butterfly, a basket, a bird, and an urn, above verse Sarah Dodge finished this work April 21st 1817 aged 11 years 7 months and 7 days in the 42 year of American Independence, all with an intertwined border, probably of Southern origin, 16 1/2" x 15 1/2". Provenance: M. Finkel & Daughter; The Collection of the Late Ann G Sickles.

Condition:Some fading and small losses.
