Kaitlyn Julian joined Pook & Pook, Inc. in January 2018 and has a hand in all areas of operations, mainly serving as intern to appraisers James Pook and Jamie Shearer. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Art History at New York City’s Marymount Manhattan College and focused her senior thesis on Chester County artist Andrew Wyeth. In 2014, Kaitlyn moved abroad to pursue her Master’s degree at the University of Glasgow in Scotland, where she graduated in 2016. Kaitlyn is passionate about cultural heritage and the preservation of historic places. While in Scotland, she studied Technical Art History and volunteered for the National Trust at the 19th century Holmwood House. Her dissertation focused on Glasgow’s premier architect, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, and examined the restoration of his 1897 masterwork, the Glasgow School of Art, after it was subject to fire in 2014.
When she is not researching antiques and oddities, Kaitlyn enjoys travelling and visiting museums. Her latest fascination is with Victorian and Edwardian era jewelry. She enjoys cataloging and admiring all the sparkly items that pass through Pook & Pook.
